Featuring GTA’s James Pratt!

MEET JAMES PRATT, PROJECT ARCHITECT!

We have an amazing team here at Gawron Turgeon, and today, we’d like to highlight one of our Project Architects, James Pratt! James has been with the team for over five years, and we’ve been lucky enough to have him working on some of the that work GTA is proudest of.

“My goal is to create senior living environments that feel welcoming, comforting, and improve the lives of the residents.”

James’ interest in his current career began when he was a child. The thought of using space to create an environment for people was a concept that hit home early, and grew into a want to create spaces to impact people’s lives.

To make those thoughts a reality, James began his higher education and pursuit of architecture with his time at Roger Williams University. Inspiration would strike during his semester abroad in Florence, Italy at the Institute of Fine and Liberal Arts at the Palazzo Rucellai. He found sparks of creativity in the local architecture at historical churches and landmarks, and the general history of art in the area.

Back stateside, after finishing his time at Roger Williams, James went on to intern at a firm in Portland, ME before heading to Denver, CO. After cutting his teeth in Colorado, James returned to a Portland, ME firm for a position that gave him experience with projects that would merge residential & medical spaces. This practice of fusing the two styles has been invaluable for his eventual position here at GTA!

Some of James’ projects at GTA have been recent project completions at Maine Veterans’ Home – Augusta and Madrona Grove at Rose Villa in Portland, OR. You can learn more about Maine Veterans’ Home here, and we are looking forward to sharing more about Madrona Grove & James’ work on the West coast soon.

We can’t emphasize how happy we are to have James on our team and look forward to what’s next in his portfolio. Keep in touch with the GTA Team HERE, or reach out to James at jpratt@gawronturgeon.com!
