OceanView at Falmouth Pocket Neighborhoods – Falmouth, ME

Part of the OceanView at Falmouth campus, Whipple Farm and the Schoolhouse Cottages combine the comfort and familiarity of home with the ease of stress-free living.

The Schoolhouse Cottages are part of OceanView’s retirement community and provide residents with spacious independent living space. Approximately 1,500 SF, the cottages include two bedrooms and two baths, gas fireplaces, four-season sunrooms, patios, cost and energy saving solar electricity, and generators. Some include second floor lofts, walk-out basements, or solar hot water.

Spacious, customized homes adorn this historic hillside property. This creates a unique neighborhood of terraced rock walls, gorgeous gardens and varied floor plans. Each home nestles into its own level on the hill and has a distinctive landscape plan.

The historic Whipple Farm property became part of the OceanView community in 2003. Shortly thereafter, site plans for the 42-home development began, with construction following in 2005 and resident move-in during 2006. The property’s original 1756 saltbox has been preserved with the dedication of 5 acres of conservation land. Whipple Farm also includes the Whipple Farmhouse Restaurant, which is used as an event and activity space. Residents can enjoy a swim in the four-season saltwater pool and socialize in the community room.

Designed by GTA’s architecture team, homes in Whipple Farm have four basic floor plans, modified to include options such as sunrooms, lofts, basements, gas fireplaces and screened in porches. The exterior architecture maintains the character of the colonial era, including dormers, decorative center chimneys, and cedar clapboards and shingles in period colors.
