cPort Credit Union, Middle St

Gawron Turgeon Architects, P.C. designed this new cPort Credit Union as a pedestrian branch located in downtown Portland, at the corner of Middle Street and India Street.

This new 6,880 SF, four-story, building is intended for mixed-use. The structure’s first two floors are commercial space for cPort Credit Union, while the third and fourth floors are a luxury residential unit with rooftop access. The banking-specific spaces include an open-style lobby with teller pods, a comfortable lounge area, private offices, a conference room and an online banking technology bar for members. The design includes a rooftop deck that overlooks the waterfront and a new sidewalk that is integral to the neighborhood.

To fit the fabric of its urban environment and neighborhood, GTA chose materials and an architectural style to reflect the history of cPort Credit Union and its significant commitment to the City and the surrounding community.

Gawron Turgeon Architects, P.C. has also designed the conversion of a former medical office into cPort’s Scarborough branch, in addition to the new cPort Credit Union branches in Augusta and Portland (Forest Avenue). All branches include leading-edge banking solutions and different aesthetics, while staying true to cPort’s distinctive branding style.
