Avesta Housing, Ridgewood at Village Square

Ridgewood at Village Square—one of the many Avesta Housing developments in Maine—is a 24-unit affordable housing community for seniors and those with disabilities. At approximately 23,000 SF it offers studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, a telemedicine room, a laundry room, a mechanical/maintenance room, and recycling storage.

Gawron Turgeon Architects, P.C. created this LEED Platinum design that addressed energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability, all while working within the client’s budget. Enterprise Green Communities certified and Energy Star certified, Ridgewood at Village Square also produces 50% of its own energy.

Financed by Maine Housing and Rural Development.
