Mainebiz reports on new Cumberland Crossing development
Cumberland Crossing, the newest addition to the OceanView family, has been featured in a recent issue of Mainebiz. The article outlines how Cumberland Crossing’s appeal has expanded over the summer months, drawing not just baby boomers wanting to downsize, but city dwellers looking to move to a less populated environment.
Situated on 37 acres of former farmland, Cumberland Crossing is centrally located to recreation areas, Cumberland Center and the town hall. Walking trails connect the community to the recreation area and golf course, providing residents space to hike, snow shoe and cross country ski.
The neighborhood is sustainably designed with solar panels, efficient cooling and heating, and a full-service generator in each home. Each of the 53 1,600 square foot homes feature a four-season sunroom, two bathrooms and an attached garage. Residents have the option of adding solar water, a solar generator, a second bay for the attached garage and a loft with an additional bathroom.
Construction will take place in phases, with an anticipated completion date of 2021. There are also plans for 52 more houses on adjacent land, including a house that would become a community center for the development.
The OceanView community includes OceanView at Falmouth which has also expanded in stages. The 80-acre Falmouth site now includes a 24-unit memory care center as well as 10 additional apartments.
