Highlighting GTA’s Deirdre Pio!
MEET DEIRDRE PIO, DIRECTOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN!
We have an amazing team here at Gawron Turgeon, and today, we’d like to highlight our Director of Interior Design, Deirdre Pio! Deirdre has been with Gawron Turgeon since 1995, beginning as an intern, working her way to a Project Manager position where she led projects that touched on every department, to working on and leading interior design efforts in her director role.
“I like to take a holistic approach to creating spaces for people, and the overlap between architecture and interior design is where the best spaces are created.”
Deirdre set out with the goal of working in design in mind. In her early education, she would learn drafting techniques and AutoCAD in vocational school and considered pursuing an engineering discipline. Beginning her higher education at New Hampshire Technical College, she was one of only a handful of females in the Architecture program at NHTI.
When she exited with an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Engineering, she landed at GTA in an internship. One of her first projects was working on the design of the duplex cottages at Ocean View at Falmouth, a senior living campus in Falmouth, ME. During these early years at GTA, Deirdre would begin taking courses at Boston Architectural College, and would come to earn her Bachelors of Architecture degree while still working full time!
Deirdre’s efforts to improve, innovate, and bring the best to her clients at GTA drove her to become one of three Certified Healthcare Interior Designers (CHID) in Maine as recent as November, 2021.

Fast forward years later, and Deirdre leads many of GTA’s projects currently both in the architecture and interior design studios, such as Breakwater Commons and Fallbrook Woods- and has participated heavily in some of GTA’s most notable projects like Regional Transportation Program, Casa Inc., CPort Credit Union, multiple Northbridge Companies communities, and more!
We’re extremely lucky to be able to work with Deirdre and collaborate with one of the best creative minds that the industry has now. Keep in touch with the GTA Team HERE, or reach out to Deirdre HERE.
