Introducing The Mooring of Kennebunk, located at 80 York St. in Kennebunk, Maine! Providing architectural design and interior design services, GTD is proud to share the completion of our third memory care community project for The Mooring Family, building directly upon the success of the award-winning ‘small-house model’ pioneered at both The Mooring on Foreside and The Mooring at The Downs.

Through the ‘small-house’ model, our design is structured around the needs of residents across twelve private suites with amenities within their reach. The suites open into shared areas, a living room, dining room, kitchen, and spaces for quiet relaxation or socializing with other residents.

Consistent with the other Mooring communities, the interior features custom millwork, coastal cottage aesthetics, and includes an abundance of natural light. The shared areas feature views of a secure, landscaped backyard that provides a safe and accessible outdoor space for residents to explore and relax in. The overall design supports a high staff-to-resident ratio and a care philosophy that integrates residents into everyday household activities, ensuring that The Mooring of Kennebunk successfully delivers specialized care through a residential aesthetic.
