St. Mary’s Medical Building + Healing Garden

Gawron Turgeon Architects, P.C. has worked with St. Mary’s on numerous projects—spanning 10 years of collaboration—starting with their 29,000 SF skilled nursing renovations at D’Youville Pavilion.

For this project, GTA was hired to provide consulting services for St. Mary’s Medical Office Building in Auburn; we prepared a thorough report to guide them in the creation of a healing and friendly senior environment. Our expertise helped them come to understand the relationship between the built environment and health, and how specific design approaches can influence and promote wellness and recovery. As a follow up to the project, GTA selected artwork for the project, and designed their outdoor healing garden—a popular destination for residents, patients, families and staff.
