News about our award-winning memory care design
The Mooring on Foreside—a project that is dear to us for so many reasons—receives a great write-up in Senior Living News. The Mooring’s founder and principle, Lynn Peel, had a strong vision that this would be a memory care home with a difference; that it would look and feel like a real home with a small footprint and an intimate setting, in turn enabling individualized care for each and every resident.
Rebecca Dillon was Gawron Turgeon’s lead architect for this project, and as she says in this Senior Living News article , “[Lynn] was very clear about the fact that she wanted people to drive up to the building and see this very residential, Cape Cod home-like structure. She didn’t want to see a huge building.”
The Mooring on Foreside has been recognized with two awards:
- 2017 Winner: IIDA Healthcare Interior Design Competition
- 2017 Winner: Senior Housing News Architecture and Design Award, Best Stand Alone Memory Care
